Local Crafts On Display This Weekend In Downtown Raleigh
Written by S. Beaumont and filed under Event
Join local craft vendors this weekend for The Crafter’s Flea Market in downtown Raleigh.
The event will host more than 40 vendors from Raleigh and neighboring towns, and attendees can expect to find local items such as: pottery, jewelry, handmade soap, handcrafted tiles, wearable art, clothing, fabric, beads and more.
Began in July 2005 as market for local craftspeople to sell their handcrafted wares, the event has become such a success that founder Mary Michelle Little plans to host the market 3-4 times yearly. Little notes the open-air markets of New York and Paris as her inspiration for the event, and believed that “The Crafter’s Flea Market would be a great way to create that feeling of community and energy in Raleigh.”
The market will be held between Johnson and Tucker Streets in Glenwood South, in the parking lot at Ornamentea and surrounding areas. A rain date of September 22nd has been set if necessary.
