Adieu
Written by S. Beaumont and filed under RFP Site News
The lack of writing on this wall has likely served as the writing on the wall for this site, but for the sake of closure, I’m officially done writing on the Free Press — at least for the near future.
It’s been a blast. I appreciate the support of everyone who dropped by and particularly those who visited regularly and joined the conversation with your comments. Also, thanks to J. Chavis, C. Sherwood and W.R Davie for their stories and contributions.
I have no intention to take the site down, so if you scan the headlines on our News Feeds page, they’ll stay up. All of the old posts will stay as well.
Cheers!
S. Beaumont

Sorry to see this news. Go recharge your batteries and come back. There’s always room at the table for ya!
Not the news I wanted when I logged onto your site this morning. You guys will be missed.
Good luck in your future projects. The community will miss you.
The Raleigh blogging scene will now be short with your departure. Hope you get the will to return and continue covering Raleigh. In my opinion, you’ve contributed the most to the scene if nothing else by creating netvibes.com/raleigh.
I take it you will still be around to maintain that page?
I really appreciate all support - I’ve replied on a few of your sites, too.
John - Yeah, I’ll definitely keep the netvibes page up, and will be happy to make any suggested additions or changes.
I can be reached through the contact form on this site or at sbeaumont (at) raleighfreepress (dot) com
Ah, shucks…sorry to see you go. I hope it will be a short sabbatical…:-)
Hope you get the urge to pick this up again someday.
@Magnus
I appreciate the encouragement. Some of your picture sets on flickr are really impressive btw.

Sorry to post this so late as I have been out of town for the last few weeks, but I wanted to say that your website has been a big asset to the City of Raleigh and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I know what you mean about being burned out as I have been there myself, but I hope to see you return after a break. Let us know if you’d like to help out with any of our media as we’d welcome your talents, which are considerable. Take care and good luck and let us know if we can buy you a beer anytime. Cheers, R.Gregg
