About
Raleigh Free Press (RFP) is an independently run website about Raleigh, North Carolina. At first glance we may look like just a blog, but we’re really a whole lot more. For starters, check out our front page for our most recent articles and posts. You can also visit our archives for a look back into everything we’ve ever written. Next, check out the RFP forums to start a conversation about Raleigh or request advice or feedback from our local readers. You can also add your own events to our calendar or scan others’ events to find something new to do. Another key area of the site are our news feeds. Check them every morning to get a feel for what’s happening throughout the city.
Who We Are & What We Do
The mission and purpose of RFP is simple: To start conversations about Raleigh and engage our readers with news, editorial commentary, insight (and sometimes random deep thoughts) about our great city. We don’t claim to be a reliable source of news and we don’t attempt to compete with local news outlets–we’re just an independent group of citizens who care enough about this city to spend our free time writing about it. We probably won’t win many prizes for our efforts, but hey–it is the Free Press–so you’ll at least get what you’ve paid for.
Stay Connected
To keep up with new articles and remain “in-the-Raleigh-know,” subscribe to our RSS feed (it’s free and painless - click here to read more about RSS) or use the form in the top right corner of this page to get each post sent to you by email. Our Writers
Raleigh Free Press writers are unpaid, unaffiliated and generally write about whatever strikes us as worthy. The only real stipulation is that is has to have local appeal. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, drop us a note through our contact form. We’re always looking for passionate writers. Also, journalism skills and a knack for writing a good story are nice, but certainly not a requirement.
